12th Police Martyr’s T-20 Cricket C’ship

KATHUA, Jan 3: In the ongoing 12th Police Martyr’s Inter Zone T-20 Cricket Championship held at Sport Stadium Kathua, two quarterfinal matches were played here today which attracted a large number of spectators.
In the first quarterfinal match played between Haryana Cricket Club and Verma Sports Club Ludhiana. Verma Sports Club Ludhiana chooses to bowl first and all out Haryana Cricket Academy team at the score of 110 runs in 19.5 overs. Jasmeet Nain scored 26 runs in 24 balls with three boundaries and one six. While chasing a target of 111 runs, Verma Cricket Club team easily chased down the given target and scored 111 runs in 18.5 overs for the loss of five wickets.
Dhruv Singh scored 53 runs in 52 balls with the help of six boundaries. Thus, the Verma Cricket Club team won the match by five wickets and was the third team to reach the semi final. Aditya Yadav was declared as man of the match who took four crucial wickets in 3.5 overs while giving 18 runs.
In the second quarterfinal match played between KKR Marheen and GSI Srinagar wherein KKR team won the toss and chose to bat first and set a target of 158 runs in 20 overs for the loss of nine wickets.
Summit scored 62 runs of 56 balls with eight boundaries and Abhishek scored 37 runs in 27 balls with the help of three boundaries and two sixes. While chasing the target of 158 runs, GSI Srinagar team was unable to chase down the given target and were all out at 135 runs in 19.2 overs. In this way KKR Marheen team thrashed the GSI Srinagar team by 22 runs and it’s the 4th team who reached into Semi final whereas Piyush was declared as man of the match for his brilliant bowling performance in which he took four main wickets by giving 19 runs in four overs.
