GDC Bishnah organizes Poster Making Competition

BISHNAH, June 25: In collaboration with State AIDSPrevention and Control Society, the Red Ribbon Club (RRC) of Government Degree College (GDC) Bishnah organized a Poster Making Competition on the topic ‘Voluntary Blood Donation is a noble service to mankind and every donor is a hero’, here today.
The competition was held under the guidance of Prof Archana Bakshi, Convener Red Ribbon Club and Prof Hardeep Kour, Finance Officer RRC, under the overall supervision of Prof Kalpana Kesar, Principal, GDC Bishnah.
15 students of Red Ribbon Club participated in the event, which witnessed a thrilling contest.
Meanwhile, Rakesh Jamwal of BA Part-II clinched first place, while Sapna Saini and Seema Mottan, both of BA Part-I claimed second and third place respectively. The consolation prizes were bagged by Surinder, Raman and Abhilash.
Dr Vijay Sharma, Prof Sunita Gupta and Anshu Andotra were the judges of the competition.
Earlier, the proceeding of the programme was initiated by Prof Archana Bakshi, who motivated the students for voluntary blood donation and encouraged them to save lives of others. Prof Hardeep Kour stressed on the theme of the World Blood Donor Day Campaign 2012, while Prof Kalpana Kesar, College Principal, appealed the students to donate blood and save humanity.
