Martyrs Memorial T20 Cricket tourney begins

DODA, Jan 12: Jammu and Kashmir Police has organized Martyrs Memorial T20 Cricket tournament at Sports Stadium Doda here today which was organized by Range Police Headquarters under Civic Action Programme (CAP).
Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG), Dr Sunil Gupta accompanied by SSP Doda Abdul Qayoom inaugurated the tournament.  While interacting with the participants, DIG said that every year sports events and various other programmes are organized by Range Police Headquarters, Batote under Civic Action Programme in the memory of Police Martyrs who have given their today for our tomorrow and sacrificed their precious lives for the integrity and sovereignty of the nation.
He also said that these types of events provide opportunity and platform to youth to showcase their talent in different fields of sports and helps in eradicating the menace of drugs and other evils from the society to build a crime free and peaceful atmosphere for the overall development of the society.
There were 24 teams from all the three districts of the range participating in the tournament; 31 matches were played during the mega event. The first match was played between Green Shaheen Doda and YCC Assar.
Pran Singh ADDC Doda, Shakeel Rehman Bhatt ASP Headquarters Doda,  Vinod Kumar ASP Bhaderwah and other officers of Army, CAPF, Traffic and officers, officials of Civil Administration were also present.
