After Sachin’s praise to Para Cricketer Amir, Adani extends helping hand

JAMMU, Jan 13: Amir Hussain Lone, the captain of Jammu and Kashmir’s Para cricket team, received recognition for his bravery and devotion towards cricket from Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar. Gautam Adani, the Chairman of the Adani Group, also commended Amir and offered assistance.
The 34-year-old differently-abled cricketer bowls using his feet and bats by holding the bat between his shoulder and neck. Amir Hussain Lone from Waghama village of Bijbehara in Anantnag currently captains Jammu & Kashmir’s Para cricket team. Amir has been playing cricket professionally since 2013 after a teacher discovered his cricketing talent and introduced him to Para cricket. He lost both his arms in an accident at his father’s mill when he was eight years old.
After seeing Lone’s video, the legendary Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar praised him. He thanked Lone for inspiring millions of people and expressed his desire to meet him in the future.
“Amir has made the impossible possible. I am so touched watching this! Shows how much love and dedication he has for the game. Hope I get to meet him one day and get a jersey with his name. Well done for inspiring millions who are passionate about playing the sport,” Sachin Tendulkar posted on X on Friday.
The 34-year-old differently-abled cricketer from Jammu and Kashmir thanked legendary Indian cricketer Tendulkar for praising him and expressed the desire to meet the batting maestro.
Speaking to a news agency, Amir said, “I am really happy. I am really happy that Sachin shared and appreciated my life story. I wish to meet him soon. Sachin sir has been my favorite since I was a child and I still feel that inspiration to this day. This is a matter of pride for Jammu and Kashmir and my district Anantnag. I cannot describe my happiness in my words. I had never thought this would happen.”
After watching Amir’s video, Gautam Adani also praised the bravery and commitment of Jammu and Kashmir’s differently-abled cricket player Amir Hussain Lone on Saturday, stating that the Adani Foundation will offer him all the assistance he needs on his “unique journey.”
“This emotional story of Aamir is amazing! We salute your courage, dedication to the game and spirit of never giving up even in adverse circumstances. Adani Foundation will contact you soon and provide you with every possible support in this unique journey. Your struggle is an inspiration for all of us,” Adani said in a post on X.
