Jammu boy tops in Water Sports course

JAMMU, June 25: Young Jammu boy, K Evan Magotra topped in the fortnight-long Basic Water Sports Course, conducted by Atal Behari Institute of Mountaineering and Allied Sports, Pong Dam in Himachal Pradesh.
Only boy from Jammu and Kashmir, who was part of the 26 members group, secured 75 per cent marks.
“During the course, these young boys and girls in the plus 12 age group learned basics of kayaking, sailing, swimming, rowing and water surfing,” said Sumit Sharma of Adventure Holidays India, who felicitated the admission of Evon in the institute.
A student of MHAC Nagbani School, Evon is a ninth standard student. He has been inspired by his father, Dr Sham Magotra in adventure activities. Dr Sham Magotra has been part of prestigious mountaineering expeditions conducted by Indian Mountaineering Association.
