KATHUA, Jan 14: The 2nd District Level Deadlift Championship was organized by the District Power Lifting Association Kathua under the auspices of All J&K UT Power Lifting Association at Rivaz Palace in Lakhanpur, here today.
Raghunandan Singh Jasrotia, DDC Vice Chairman, Ravinder Kumar Sharma, President District Kathua Power Lifting Association, Ravi K Jassal, International Athlete, Ajay Sharma General Secretary All J&K UT Power Lifting Association, Shabeel Ahmed, General Secretary District Kathua Power Lifting Association and members of All J&K UT Power Lifting Association.
Rahul Dev Sharma, Municipal Counselling Ward No-19, inaugurated the championship by lighting lamps, marking the commencement of the competition with the 53kg and 59kg categories. Over 90 lifters, including 15 girls, participated across sub-junior, junior, senior, and master categories. The championship showcased exceptional strength and skill.
The results were best male lifter (Sub Junior Category) Paramjeet Singh; best male lifter (Junior Category) Lovish; Best Male Lifter (Senior Category) Anshu, Best Male Lifter (Master Category), Pawan Kumar, Female Lifter (Sub Junior Category) Shani Sharma, Female Lifter (Junior Category, Prasmi Gupta; Female Lifter (Senior Category) Konika, Female Lifter (Master Category) Shahina. Winners were honoured with medals and certificates by the Chief Guest Raghunandan Singh Jasrotia- vice DDC Chairman, earned their spots for the UT level Championship.
