JAMMU, Jan 14: A Dangal competition was organised by SAI Dangal Committee in the village Dhounchak Didhora Jourian here today in which wrestlers from different parts of India participated. Narinder Singh Bhau was chief guest on this occasion.
Recognizing the historical and cultural significance of wrestling, Narinder Singh Bhau emphasized the deep-rooted tradition of Dangals in India. He emphasized the importance of preserving ancient art forms and promoting physical strength and agility among the youth.
Yudhvir emerged victorious in an intense display of skill and determination, claiming the championship, while Arvind, hailing from Delhi, showcased remarkable talent as the runner-up. Yudhvir, now a prominent figure in the wrestling community, serves as the esteemed coach of the Krishna Sports Club, inspiring and mentoring aspiring athletes.
The chief guest presented the winners with a generous prize of Rs 51,000, recognizing their dedication and prowess in the arena. The spirited Dangal, held on the auspicious occasion of Makar Sankranti, a revered festival in the Hindu calendar symbolizing new beginnings, further highlighted the celebration of culture and heritage.
Pradeep Chaudhary, Kulwant Singh, Ajay Singh, Valwan Singh, Praveen Singh, Tarsem Chaudhary, Vijay Chaudhary, Yash Pal, and numerous other dedicated individuals of the SAI Dangal Committee, whose relentless efforts contributed to the success of the grand event were also present.
