SRINAGAR, Feb 4: Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Shalinder Kumar today reviewed the arrangements being made for the forthcoming senior skiing and snowboarding championship being held at Gulmarg from February 16 to February 20 2014 at a high level officers meeting here today.
District Magistrate Srinagar Farooq Ahmad Shah, Chief Engineer, Mechanical Engineering, CE, R&B, CE,PDD, officers of Tourism, Health and allied departments attended the meeting.
Divisional Commissioner Kashmir while addressing the meeting said that the objective of organising the event is aimed at promoting sports and tourism in the State besides improving the socio-economic conditions of the people.
He directed the officers to leave no stone unturned in extending all required facilities to participants as well as enthusiastic visitors during the event so that there is no complaint from any quarter.
Deputy Commissioner Srinagar on this occasion said that 15 teams drawn from all parts of the country are expected to participate in the event, being organised by J&K Winter Games Association.
He said that the event will be inaugurated on February 16, 2014 while concluding function will be held on February 20, 2014.
The officers present in the meeting assured the Divisional Commissioner that the event will be a great success and every effort will be made to provide all possible facilities to participants and enthusiastic gathering.
