DODA, Jan 15: Indian Army conducted Pir Panjal Kabaddi League under Operation Sadbhavana at Sports Stadium, Doda which concluded here today.
The two day event brought together youth of various backgrounds and communities to foster friendship, camaraderie and a sense of togetherness. Local schools, colleges and youth groups have enthusiastically joined the initiative. The event is expected to not only showcase exceptional Kabaddi talent but also highlight the spirit of unity and harmony. The tournament, in line with Khelo India initiative, is aimed at highlighting and promoting Pir Panjal Kabaddi as a sport other than cricket and volleyball which is quite popular amongst the youth.
It will give a platform for youth to participate in a district level tournament and empower them to excel in sporting activities. The people of the area whole heartily appreciated the support provided by the Indian Army to encourage sports activities among youth in Doda district. This step will help in giving a boost to development of sports in Doda region and also foster social and communal harmony among students.
