Punjab wrestler Sandeep lifts 20th Sool- Pamote Dangal title

REASI, Jan 17: Wrestler Sandeep of Khanna of Punjab lifted 20th annual Sool- Pamote Dangal title-2024 by defeating wrestler Chota Gani of Hoshiarpur of Punjab in a neck to neck contest at village Pamote Nalla in district Reasi.
Sandeep was adjudged as the best wrestler in Dangal which was organised by Sool- Pamote Dangal committee on the eve of Makar Sankranti. The winner of 1st malli bout wrestler Sandeep was given a cash prize of Rs 71,000 while runner-up wrestler Chota Gani was awarded with cash Rs 50,000.
Former Minister Jugal Kishore Sharma was the chief guest on the occasion who distributed cash prizes among the winner and runner-up wrestlers. He also witnessed the Dangal and encouraged the youths while SDM Katra Deepak Dubey and DDC Member Panthal Rajinder Kumar Mengi were the guests of honour.
Ex- BDC Panthal Chander Mohan Singh, Ex-Sarpanch Karnail Singh, Jarnail Singh, Rajinder Kumar Thappa, Ramesh Chander and Sohan Singh Thakur were also present. There were 42 bouts played in the one day Dangal and an expenditure of Rs 3, 80,000 has been incurred for the conduct of this Dangal.  The second main bout was won by Rashid of Domana Akhara Jammu who defeated wrestler Sunil of Haryana. He was awarded with Rs 41,000 while runner-up wrestler Sunil got Rs 30,000.
The third malli bout was won by Nadeem of J&K Police (Doda) who defeated wrestler Jatinder of Haryana. Winner Wrestler Nadeem was awarded with Rs 31,000 while runner-up wrestler Jatinder got Rs 20,000. The proceedings of the Dangal were conducted by Naresh Kumar (Pappu Lakri) and the welcome address was presented by Raj Kumar Sharma (Babbu) President of Dangal Committee.
Members and technical officials who helped for the smooth conduct of the Dangal included (Raj Kumar Sharma (Babbu), President, Rattan Lal Sharma, Gian Chand, Joginder Kumar (Pappu) Mohan Lal, Nasib Singh, Kartar Singh (Numberdar), Bablu Dubey, Chain Singh, Kuldeep Kumar, Sohan Lal Verma and Anu Baigra.
