POONCH, Jan 20: The J&K National Conference president for Pir Panjal Range and former MLA Javed Ahmed Rana today launched a scathing attack on the BJP, accusing the party of promoting divisive politics that has the potential to lead to a class war and the disintegration of the country.
Addressing a workers’ meeting in Mendhar area of Poonch district, Javed Rana expressed deep concern over the BJP’s alleged efforts to polarize the nation along religious and caste lines. He lamented the introduction of negative, divisive, and hate politics under the guise of “ultra-nationalism,” which he argued has created suspicion and mistrust among various communities. He accused the BJP of failing to understand the inclusive fabric of India, which encompasses all religions, castes and regions.
The former MLA highlighted the toll that divisive politics has taken on national harmony, citing nearly five years of unprecedented unrest among the people. He attributed the impact of reactionary politics on governance, leading the country into a crisis-like situation. He pointed out that economic disorder has pushed the poor to the brink, creating a potential scenario of confrontation between the haves and have-nots.
Rana described the BJP’s agenda of intolerance as an extension of its vote bank politics, asserting that while it may have brought short-term gains to the party, it has significantly damaged national interests. He referenced chaotic and confrontational situations in various parts of the country, placing blame on the BJP for promoting dissent and encouraging divisions between communities, warning that this could further escalate tensions.
Criticizing the BJP’s insensitivity and lack of understanding of Indian politics, Javed Rana declared that the party has done a huge disservice to the nation. He called upon the people to isolate the BJP by maintaining unity, which he deemed a powerful weapon against divisive elements.
The senior NC leader urged the party workers to remain connected with the people and raise awareness about what he termed as the anti-people agenda pursued by the saffron party. He appealed to the people of Jammu and Kashmir to strengthen National Conference for the overall development of the State.
