Chotta Sudham wrestler lifts 14th Akhali Buttan Dangal title

REASI, Jan 23: Wrestler Chotta Sudham of Hoshiarpur (Punjab) lifted 14th Akhali Buttan Dangal title by defeating Wrestler Karan of Jalandhar, Punjab (Railway) in a neck to neck contest at Village Buttan in Panchayat Akhali- Buttan in district Reasi here today.
Chotta Sudham was adjudged as the best wrestler in Dangal which was organized by Akhali-Buttan Dangal Committee. The winner of 1st malli bout Wrestler Chotta Sudham was given a cash prize of Rs 60,000 while runner-up was awarded with cash prize of Rs 40,000.
Around 100 wrestlers from J&K, Punjab, Chandigarh and Haryana participated in the Dangal in which 50 bouts were played. The second main bout was won by Rashid of Domana Akhara Jammu who defeated wrestler Chotta Jassa of Badawal in Punjab. The third main bout was won by Surjit Singh of J&K Police of Reasi who defeated wrestler Bobby of Badawal (Punjab). SDM Katra Deepak Dubey was the chief guest on the occasion who distributed cash prizes among the winner and runner-up wrestlers. Tehsildar Katra Jatinder Singh and BJP District President Reasi Rohit Dubey were the guests of honour.
Shiv Kumar Sharma, former Joint Secretary of J&K State Sports Council and President J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association presided over the function. Retired Joint Director BOSE Koushal Kumar, BJP Mandal President Katra Romesh Chander Sharma, President District Reasi Democratic Azad Party Surinder Bhagat, Vice President Ex-Sarpanch Rattan Singh were also present.
Members and technical officials who helped for the smooth conduct of the Dangal included former Sarpanch Ravi Kumar Sharma, President, Rattan Singh Numberdar, Rajinder Kumar (Ex. Panch), Baldev Singh (Ex. Sarpanch), Baldev Raj (Ex. Sarpanch), Sohan Lal, Mulkh Raj and Banarsi Lal. The proceedings of the Dangal were conducted by Naresh Kumar (Pappu Lakari), while the welcome address was presented by former Sarpanch Ravi Kumar Sharma.
