Police Martyr’s Memorial Cricket tourney inaugurated at Udhampur

UDHAMPUR, Jan 28: To pay tribute to Martyrs, Police Martyrs’ Memorial Cricket tournament was inaugurated in District Police Lines Udhampur.
The Cricket tournament was declared open by SSP Udhampur, Joginder Singh in presence of Additional Superintendent of Police Udhampur, Anwaar Ul Haq, Shahid Nahiem DySP DAR DPL Udhampur and other officers and officials.
SSP Udhampur laid stress on the importance of sports activities in the life of a person especially youths to channelize their energy in a positive way. Sports activities help to keep the youth physically and mentally fit to achieve desirable progressive goals. Besides, it also keeps them away from social evils like drug addictions, terrorism, separatism etc.
Police Martyrs Memorial Cricket Tournament is organised at District Police Lines Udhampur in which more than 40 different cricket teams of district Udhampur would be participating. The inaugural Cricket match was played between DPS Cricket team Udhampur and RCC cricket team Udhampur which was won by DPS cricket team Udhampur.
