JAMMU, Jan 28: Mariya Noorain’s brilliant bowling display went in vain as Saurashtra defeated Jammu and Kashmir by 5 wickets in the ongoing Women’s U-23 One-Day Trophy at Sachin Tendulkar Gymkhana Mumbai today.
Chasing a modest total of 103 runs, Saurashtra lost 5 wickets to script victory by 5 wickets. Skipper T Dharani top scored with 42 runs off 66 balls studded with 7 boundaries, while Ayushi P remained unbeaten on 25 runs off 21 balls with 5 boundaries. P Bhambi also contributed 10 runs to the total.
For J&K, talented Speedster Mariya Noorain was the pick of the bowlers, who captured 4 wickets by conceding 36 runs in 10 overs, while Kajal Bhagat claimed one wicket. Earlier, winning the toss and batting first, J&K bundled out for a paltry total of 103 runs in 37.3 overs.
