Malhotra calls on Sec Gen AIFF, discusses way forward for football in UT

JAMMU, Feb 1: Arun Malhotra Technical Member, AIFF met Secretary General M Satyanarayan, All India Football Federation in New Delhi to discuss the way forward for football in the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir.
In a meeting with AIFF Secretary General M Satyanarayan, Arun Malhotra made a number of demands to improve grassroots level football in J&K and address the dearth of good coaches and facilities in UT.
Malhotra stated, “We talk about long-term plans for the prosperous future of sports in Union Territory, including holding of national level events, team camps, and development of human resource programs for referees and coaches for the grassroots football players, particularly women players.”
“We also talked about the long-overdue JKFA elections in Jammu and Kashmir and expressed our hope that it would take place soon to choose a new executive committee to oversee football-related matters. We will be able to create projects and plans specifically tailored to the needs of the game’s development in UT in collaboration with the J&K Sports Council and other stakeholders.”, he added.
Secretary General M Satyanarayan assured all possible help for the development of the game in UT. The Secretary General said, “We are ready to provide all possible help to Union Territory to improve the quality and standard of football in Jammu and Kashmir. Recently we conducted SAFF U-16 Camp and Coaching Education programmes in Jammu, Srinagar and Kathua. We also want the Union Territory administration to improve the quality of infrastructure, ground and coaching facilities so that national or international level of events can be held.”
