Shiksha Niketan School holds Annual Day cum Prize Distribution Function

JAMMU, Feb 3: Shiksha Niketan Senior Secondary School, Jammu celebrated its 55th Annual Day cum Prize Distribution Function at General Zorawar Singh Auditorium, Jammu University here today.
Former Chief Minister J&K & Founder Chairman of Democratic Progressive Azad Party (DPAP), Ghulam Nabi Azad was Chief Guest on the occasion. Mahant Manjeet Singh, Swami Hridhyanand Giri, Sant Subhash Shastri ‘Spiritual Personalities’, ID Soni, State Commissioner Bharat Scouts and Guides, Renowned educationists, President Old Age Home, Padma Shree S P Verma, Social Worker & Peace Activist were present there as presiding guests.
The other dignitaries who had rendered their “Valuable & Distinguished” services in various fields for the “Welfare and Upliftment” of humanity at the Regional and National Levels were Padma Shree Balwant Thakur, Padma Shree Romalo Ram, Padma Shree Kashi Nath Pandita, Padma Shree Mohan Singh and Prof. Shiv Dutt Nirmohi, promoter of Dogra Culture and Rich History of Jammu Region. They paid tribute to Late Dev Dutt Mengi – the Founder Principal of Shiksha Niketan.
The school’s ‘Annual Report’ was presented by Principal; Rameshwar Mengi followed by a colourful Cultural programme presented by the students based on the theme -“NAVRAS”.
Ghulam Nabi Azad during his speech highlighted the social and educational contributions of the founder Principal Late Dev Dutt Mengi. He also appreciated the school management, teaching staff & the administrative staff for giving proper direction to the students to ensure their all round personality development. The news letter – “Bagisha” was also released on this occasion by the dignitaries.
The students who obtained first three positions were awarded with Cheques for Rs 15,000 each, and the students who scored from 4th to 20th Positions in the Board Examination of 10th and 12th were awarded the prize Cheques of Rs 5000 each to encourage the students.
All the invited dignitaries were presented mementos by Principal, Rameshwar Mengi, who expressed his whole-hearted gratitude to them for extending their full support and co-operation to make the function a memorable event in presence of School Headmaster, Harish Sharma, Rakshan Mengi (Director, RMPS) and (Risheek Mengi – Director, PushpVatika, Jeevan Nagar.
