JAMMU, Feb 5: Jammu & Kashmir Amateur Kabaddi Association (JKAKA) unanimously re-elected Anil Gupta as its president for the third consecutive term.
In the Annual General Meeting held at Jammu all the representatives from the different districts of Jammu & Kashmir (UT) were present in the AGM where the election body announced by Returning Officer Advocate Anshuja Tak, who was appointed as Returning Officer of J&K Amateur Kabaddi Association by Jammu & Kashmir Sports Council to conduct the elections.
The elected office bearers were elected for the period of 2024 to 2028 are Anil Gupta, President, one senior vice-President Mohd. Sayed Baba, two Vice-Presidents Arun Gupta and Ghulam Mohammed Ganaie, while Kuldeep Kumar Gupta will take up the responsibility of General Secretary, two Joint Secretaries Gulzar Ahmad Ahanger and Abdul Rahman Padder, Treasurer Anil Modi and three Executive members of the Committee are Tanveer Ahmed, Fazal Hussain and Radha Bakshi.
According to Gupta, the primary objective of the association will be to promote the traditional game of Kabaddi within the region of Jammu and Kashmir/Union Territory. This will involve organizing numerous Kabaddi tournaments to encourage the participation and development of local Kabaddi players. The ultimate goal is to have these players selected for the Pro Kabaddi League auction, as well as the National and International Yuva Kabaddi Leagues.
