CRPF Women Hockey team clinches 72nd All India Police Hockey Title

JAMMU, Feb 7: Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) Women Hockey team clinched 72nd All India Police Hockey title by defeating SSB by 2-0 goals at KK Hakku Hockey Stadium, here today.
In the final match played between CRPF and SSB team CRPF won by 2-0 goals and clinched the Women’s title. Goal scorers were Parmila Soreng and Neha Sharma. Player of the match was declared Supriya Mundu for her brilliant performance. Chief Guest of the match was Sarah Rizvi, DIG IR Jammu.
For the third place match was played between Tamil Nadu and Odisha (Women) in which Odisha Police win via shootout. Player of the match was declared Arti Reshma Toppo for her brilliant performance. Chief Guest of the match was Rahul Yadav, Commissioner JMC.
In the first semi-final match played in Male category between CISF and Punjab Police was won by Punjab police via shootout by 3-2 goals. The match ended in goalless draw after that Punjab Police converted three shootouts whereas CISF team converted two shootouts only.
Player of the match was declared Paras Malhotra, the goal keeper of the winning team for his excellent performance during the shootout. Chief Guest of the match was Sargun Shukla, CO IRP- 15th Battalion.
While in the second semi-final match played between BSF and CRPF, BSF won via shootout by 4-2. The match ended in a draw by 1-1 goals. The goal scorers were Kanwarpal Singh from BSF team and from CRPF side Lovejeet Singh. Player of the match was declared Manish Kumar for his best performance. Chief Guest of the match was Mahendra Nath Tiwari, IGP AP/IRP Jammu.
Meanwhile, the final match in male category will be played on Thursday between Punjab Police and BSF.
