No private agency can decide return: KPs

JAMMU, Feb 13: A delegation of Kashmiri Pandits  called on Relief and Rehabilitation Commissioner, R K Pandita today and expressed their grave concern over the recent notice published by the organization acknowledging the newly floated Kashmir Migrants Rehabilitation and Welfare Society.
The delegation was led by JKVM leader Ashok Kangan and Apex Committee member, Piaray Lal Raina. It termed the notification a grave conspiracy and warned that the displaced Pandits all over the country will come on roads if any private agency will be assigned the role of deciding their fate.
Jagti Migrants Welfare Committee and AMCCC has also warned against the move and termed it a conspiracy against the displaced community. They said the migrants from camp and non camp areas will hold massive protest on February 15 against the move aimed at uprooting the community again by some vested elements who are eyeing the funds earmarked in PM package. The leaders of the Committee Vir Ji Belove, Pintoo Ji and Desh Rattan said that how such decision was taken by the Government to construct clusters for some families at one place when it is claiming that migrants will be taken to their homes and hearts.
KHC chairman M L Thusoo and its convener P L Koul Badgami have also taken serious exception to the Relief Organization’s notification in this regard.  It said how 112 families have conspicuously affiliated with the Society out of 65,000 migrant families putting up at various parts of the country.
The KHC leaders termed it a divisive tactics and said KPs can’t be hoodwinked this way.
Meanwhile Virender Kaw, son of Kashi Nath Kaw  whose name figures on serial 28 of the notice has disassociated himself from the list saying that willingness given for return by him stands null and void. He said there is blatant intent of the Government to complete the genocide of KPs and rid them of their native place their homeland.
