Samba police arrests 11 gamblers, recovers Rs 28500 stake money

SAMBA, Feb 16: Samba police has apprehended eleven gamblers red-handed in the jurisdiction of Police Station (PS) Bari Brahmana and recovered stake money to the tune of Rs 28,500/-along with playing cards, 12 mobile phones and cash from their possession.
The apprehended gamblers have been identified as Mohammad Sahab Nasiruddin, Ahmed, son of Masroof Ahmed, Suhaib, son of Saeed Ahmed, Asif, son of Kudrat, Adil son of Irshad, Mohd Saqib son of Mohd Shamim, Mohammad Noor, son of Islam Ul Haq, Nahim Khan, son of Umed Ali, Arshad Malik son of Naseemudin,Mohd Qasim, son of Zulfikar and Usman son of Sulamaan all residents of Uttar Pradesh at present Teli Basti, Bari Brahmana.
Police said acting on specific information regarding gambling, a police team headed by SHO Police Station Bari Brahmana raided the gambling spot near Teli Basti, Bari Brahmana and apprehended eleven gamblers while gambling along with stake money of Rs 28,500/-, playing cards, 12 costly mobile phones and cash of Rs.1635/- from their possession.
Legal action under Section 13 of Gambling Act has been taken by police against the said gamblers, police said.
