JAMMU, Feb 15: Displaced Kashmiri Pandits held a demonstration in front of Relief Organization in protest against the roping in of a private society by the Government to decide about the return and rehabilitation of Kashmiri Pandits in Valley.
Raising slogans against the Society and the Government, the protestors termed it a big conspiracy to uproot the migrants further who have suffered a lot over 24 year long turmoil in the Valley.
They, while questioning the Government move said the community is totally not in favour of the return formula under the present circumstances in view of the fluid situation in the Valley and admission of the higher ups in Union Government that there is every apprehension of influx of Talibans in Valley after the withdrawal of US troops from Afghanistan this year.
The protestors said the conspiracy is aimed at making the displaced Pandits a canon fodder to the forces inimical to the unity and integrity of the nation.
They demanded that the Government should first discuss the return module with community organizations by taking its aspirations into consideration.
The protestors said the scars of Wandhama, Chatisingpora, Sangrapmpora and Nadimarg carnages have not dried up yet and they will not allow any one to hoodwink the majority opinion in the community.
If any body on individual level wants to go let him surrender his ration card and return in his personnel capacity without involving and misleading the community as a whole, said Pinto Ji of Jagti Migrants Welfare Committee.
The other KP organizations which participated in the protest included, ASKPC, AIKS, JCC, JTC, JUF, Secular Front, AMCCC, Voice of KPs, etc.
