JAMMU, Feb 24: KC International School here today celebrated its Annual Sports Day and organized a prize distribution function.
Anand Jain, ADGP Jammu Zone graced the occasion as chief guest while Chaitanya Chowdhary, president KCIS and Surinder Mahajan, former president Raghunath Bazar Association and Social Worker was guest of honour.
Anissa Nabi, State Tax Officer and Rajesh Dhar, Member of Cricket Association were special guests. The event was also witnessed by the School Principal, Anupama Sinha, parents, teachers and the students.
The sporting extravaganza began with the welcome dance, lighting the torch and oath ceremony by the participants.
The Houses of the School – Ruby, Emerald, Topaz and Sapphire marched in perfect coordination. Then, the tiny tots from primary wing participated in events like pack your bags, ball balancing, sponge game, 25 m hurdles, frog jump and duck walk.
The students from middle wing took part in sack race, 100 metre run, 200 metre run and 400 metre relay race.
Parents and teachers participated in race and tug of war.
Emerald House clinched the top most position, Topaz House was declared second and Ruby bagged the third position.
The chief guest along with other dignitaries gave away prizes to the young enthusiasts.
President KCIS, Chaitanya Chowdhary presented a token of gratitude to the chief guest, guests of honour and special guests.
Anissa Nabi hailed the spirit of the children and quoted the slogan of ‘Fit India Movement’.
ADGP Anand Jain applauded the scintillating performance of students in sports and exhorted them to participate regularly in extra-curricular activities for ensuring their all-round development.
Vote of thanks was presented by Anupama Sinha, Principal of the School.
She applauded Babita Bhau, Activity Coordinator and entire sports and activity staff for making the event a success. The event culminated with National Anthem.
