JAMMU, Feb 16: Convener of the Joint Consultative Committee of employees Rauf Ahmed Bhat along with some other members met the Secretary GAD and discussed the issue related to enhancement of retirement age of the employees, which is their long pending demand.
Mr Bhat, who has been taking up the issues of the employees vigorous with the Government including Chief Minister, other Ministers and Chief Secretary, said that in today’s meeting the secretary GAD Mohd Ashraf Bukhari has hinted at Government’s resolve to consider the demand during current Budget Session.
The Government has already directed the Chief Secretary and secretary GAD to work out modalities and financial implications involved in this regard. Mr Bhat said that he had three rounds of meetings with Government and the process is expected to culminate on a positive note with an announcement from none other than the Chief Minister himself on the floor of the House during ongoing Budget session.
