Tribute paid to Chander Shekhar Azad

JAMMU, Feb 27: Freedom Fighters Memorial Association (FFMA) here today paid rich tribute to the freedom fighter Chander Shekhar Azad on his martyrdom day at Maheshpura Chowk.
Speaking on the occasion, Chairman FFMA, Rajiv Mahajan threw light on the sacrifices of Azad who was born in a small village of Madhya Pradesh.
He said that Azad astonished the British empire when he was just 16 years of age by revealing his name as ‘Azad’, his father’s name as ‘Swatantrata’ and his residence as the prison cell.
Mahajan further said that Azad’s passion for freedom inspired many youth.
Those who were present on the occasion were Ved Gandotra, chief patron; R.C Puri, vice chairman; Karnail Chand, working president; Kamal Sharma, Parbhat Kapahi and others.
