MP JTN demands separate HC for Ladakh

NEW DELHI, Feb 28: A delegation comprising Member of Parliament (MP), Jamyang Tsering Namgyal and president of Bar Association of Leh, Advocate Mohd. Shafi Lassu met Arjun Ram Meghwal, Union Law Minister and demanded High Court Circuit Bench in Ladakh along with a dedicated High Court.
The delegation sought personal intervention of the Law Minister emphasizing on the crucial support needed to expedite formal approval for the High Court Circuit Bench in Leh and a separate High Court for Ladakh.
“This initiative will not only speed up case resolution but will also promote legal professionalism and will strengthen the evolving judicial infrastructure in the region,” members of the delegation maintained adding that inauguration of the Circuit Bench in Leh promptly will address current issues of distant travel and eliminate delays in legal proceedings.
They told the Minister that this will significantly benefit the people of Ladakh by providing them with easier access to justice and ensuring a more responsive legal system tailored to the unique challenges faced by the region.
