JK Bank blanks Param FC to enter semis

JAMMU, Feb 15: The formidable team of Jammu and Kashmir Bank thrashed Param Football Club (FC) by four goals to nil (4-0) to qualify for the semifinals of the ongoing 4th Rajiv Gandhi Gold Cup Football Tournament, here today.
The Tournament is being organized by Narinder Gupta, Senior Congress Leader, All J&K Indira Gandhi People’s Association and Member J&K State Sports Council.
Earlier, in a one-sided battle, Prem Kumar pelted a superb goal in the 16th minute of the match to give his team an early lead. Ezikol Sunday netted another goal in 55th minute to enhance the lead. Prem Kumar continued his brilliant form and pelted his second and the team’s third goal in the 57th minute, which was followed by another goal by Aman Thapa in 79th minute, thus JK Bank won the match by (4-0) goals. For Foul play, Vinay Kumar of JK Bank was shown yellow card in 74th minute of the match.
The match was officiated by Rakesh Kumar, Stephen Moon, Vijay Kumar and Rohit Kumar Gupta, while the match was witnessed by Sheikh Mehmood, Harbans Lal, Charan Dass, Rakesh Khanna, Rajesh Sumbria and Suresh Gupta.
Vijay Club will take on J&K Police in the quarterfinals at 1 pm, while Satluj Malpur FC will lock horns with Sainik Colony Football Club in the pre-quarterfinals at 3 pm tomorrow.
