JKP drubs Vijay Club, enters semis

JAMMU, Feb 18: The strong team of Jammu and Kashmir Police (JKP) XI drubbed Vijay Club by four goals to one (4-1) to qualify for the semifinals of the ongoing 4th Rajiv Gandhi Gold Cup Football Tournament, here today.
The Tournament is being organized by Narinder Gupta, Senior Congress Leader, All J&K Indira Gandhi People’s Association and Member J&K State Sports Council.
Earlier, JKP opened the account through a self goal in 7th minute, which was followed by the goals pelted by Asif Majid, Fayaz Ahmad and Vishal Bandral in 30th, 41st and 89th minute respectively. For Vijay Club, Naresh Kumar scored the lone goal in 55th minute.
Yellow card was shown to Suraj Kumar Gupta and Tanpreet Singh of Vijay Club in 12th and 80th minutes respectively.
In another match, Satluj Malpur Football Club got better of Sainik Colony Football Club by a solitary goal and the goal scorer was Daljeet Singh in 6th minute of the match. For foul play, yellow cards were shown to Rishi Chatteri of Satluj Club and Gagandeep Singh of Sainik Colony in 17th and 30th minutes respectively.
The matches were officiated by Rakesh Kumar, Stephen Moon, Vijay Kumar, Suresh Kumar, Ricky Kumar, Kushay Kumar, Koushal Kumar and Rohit Kumar Gupta, while the match was witnessed by Tirath Ram, DYSSO Jammu, Sheikh Mehmood, Majeed Kakroo, Harbans Lal, Charan Dass, Rakesh Khanna, Rajesh Sumbria and Feastus Sotra, Satpal Kalsi and Yousuf Don.
JK SRTC will take on PDC ‘A’ at 1 pm, while Satluj Malpur FC will lock horns with J&K Forest at 3 pm tomorrow.
