JAMMU, Mar 12: BJP senior leader and former Mayor, Rajinder Sharma today said that his party has fulfilled all of its poll promises and has worked a lot to flourish the culture of Bharat and for Bharatiyita (Indianism).
He was addressing a party programme in connection with ‘Viksit J&K and Viksit Bharat’at Laxmipuram, Chinore near here.
Ashok Koul and former Mayor, Rajinder Sharma were the chief guests in the programme while Mahinder Kumar, former Councillor of Ward Number 61 was the guest of honour.
Rajinder Sharma said “Be it Ram Temple construction or abrogation of Article 370 or NRC or taking economy of the nation at fifth place in the world or be it the Mission Moon or that of making the new Parliament building, BJP has worked a lot to bring glorious past of India and its culture on international arena.
He said BJP created a new work culture in JMC not only to make its functioning smooth but also make it a responsive organisation.
“Keeping this in mind Rs. 25 crore budget of 2018 was boosted to Rs. 168 crore, over 90,000 street lights were installed in the city, building bylaws were amended for the benefit of common people, campaign for Imaandar Jammu and Shandaar Jammu was started and campaign against poly-bags use was also started and bio-degradable material bags were introduced and for the first time the local body got its budget released in the month of May while it was released in the month of August otherwise and tendering was done in September-October and execution of works used to be done in the month of December.
But under the new regime execution of works was done in the month of May itself,” he maintained.
