JAMMU, Mar 14: The three-day workshop by Jammu University on Capacity Building and Leadership Development for the implementation of NEP 2020, with special emphasis on internationalization of Higher Education, concluded here today.
Atal Dulloo, Chief Secretary, J&K, was chief guest in the valedictory function and he emphasized the Government’s commitment to providing best educational opportunities to nurture future leaders equipped to compete on a global scale. He underscored the importance of leveraging multiple interventions to maximize the impact of educational initiatives, drawing parallels between workshops like this and dynamic environments such as farms and laboratories where incremental changes and predetermined outcomes are observed.
Underscoring the importance of National Education Policy (NEP) as a crucial initiative, Dulloo focused on tapping into the boundless energy and potential of the youth, likening them to a valuable asset capable of sparking positive societal changes.
The report of the three-day workshop was presented by Prof Manisha Priyam from the National Institute of Educational Planning and Administration (NIEPA).
Alok Kumar, Principal Secretary, Higher Education Department, and guest of honour, stressed the importance of enhancing our global presence and fostering cross-cultural exchange to create a vibrant educational environment. Emphasizing the role of education as a key driver for achieving our goals, he advocated for the development of an integrated, adaptable, and skilled-focused framework.
He proposed the crafting of an innovative curriculum to encourage a well-rounded educational experience conducive to adaptation and growth.
Professor Umesh Rai, Vice-Chancellor JU, emphasizing the importance of implementing the NEP 2020 for the holistic development of the education sector.
Earlier, Prof Anju Bhasin, Dean Academic Affairs, JU, emphasized the importance of ensuring that every student has the opportunity to unlock their full potential and make positive contributions to society.
Vote of thanks was delivered by Prof Sundeep Pandita, Director MMTTC while proceedings of the three-day workshop, including inaugural as well as valedictory function, were conducted by Dr Sumita Sharma Deputy Registrar, DAA.
The valedictory function was attended by the Principals from various Universities, Deans, Rectors, Directors, HoDs, Officers and staff of JU.
Earlier, day three featured enlightening sessions. The panelist were Prof Crig Jeffrey, from Monash University, Australia and Dr Archana Thakur, Joint Secretary UGC, Prof Seema Naz from Govt College of Education, Srinagar.
