JAMMU, Mar 15: To remember the historic triumph of the Indian Hockey team in the finals of Hockey World Cup in 1975 by defeating Pakistan, an exhibition match was held at KK Hakku stadium here today.
The Hockey J&K held an exhibition match between two border area teams; Baba Banda Singh Bahadur Hockey Club Poonch and MBS Hockey Club RS Pura in which Banda Singh Bahadur Hockey Club emerged victorious by a score of 2-1.
Tejveer Singh Sodhi, Drug Control Officer of Jammu Zone was the Chief Guest on the occasion. In addition to Rajinder Singh, former President of Hockey India, the event saw the presence of distinguished personalities like GS Bakshi, Ex-District Youth Services and Sports Officer & former General Secretary of Hockey J&K, Rajinder Koul, Sr. Vice President of Hockey J&K, Daljeet Singh, Member of Hockey J&K, Gurpreet Singh, Vice President of Hockey J&K, Tejinder Singh, Resident Secretary of Hockey J&K, Supinder Deep Singh Bakshi, General Secretary of Hockey J&K, as well as RP Sarna, Ashok Sharma and Prem Kumar Bhagat.
