JAMMU, Mar 17: Border Lions Volleyball Club Pallanwala lifted the 35th Jammu District Volleyball Championship by defeating M.A Stadium Volleyball Club in Boys Section at MA Stadium, here today.
In the best of five matches, Champions won by 3-2 sets (Score – 22-25, 25-19, 23-25, 25-23 and 16-14). It’s worth mentioning that Border Lions Volleyball Club Pallanwala is being patronized by Master Puran Singh, Joint Secretary VAJK who is grooming budding players in Border areas of Akhnoor Sector.
In this championship, a total of 11 teams in Boys section and 5 teams in Girls category drawn from the different parts of the Jammu district participated. The finals of Boys section was deferred due to inclement weather and held on March 17. The championship was organised by Jammu District Volleyball Association under the aegis of Volleyball Association of J&K in collaboration with J&K Sports Council.
Manmeet Singh Amn President Jammu District Volleyball Association was the Chief Guest and distributed prizes along with dignitaries Kuldip Magotra CEO VAJK and Vijay Kumar Magotra Honorary General Secretary VAJK. Amongst dignitaries Rajiv Dogra (Retd) SAI Volleyball Coach, Prateek Kumar Volleyball SAI Coach STC Jammu, Naresh Kumar Volleyball Coach and a large number of sports lovers graced the function.
H.S Gill Secretary Jammu District Volleyball Association gave an account of Jammu District Volleyball Championship in which over 200 Volleyball players actively participated in the championship which concluded today. The finals were officiated by Amarjeet Singh VFI recognized Referee and Akbar Ali Office Secretary of VAJK.
