Chinar XI lifts KSJ T-10 trophy

JAMMU, Mar 18: Chinar XI beat Chanderbhaga XI by 28 runs to win the third edition of the KSJ T-10 cricket tournament held at Greenfield grounds, Gandhi Nagar, here today.
A total of six teams participated in the tournament, which was organised by Kishtwari Sangathan Jammu (KSJ) a self-funded body. Chinar XI was led by Mithun Rathore, while Chander Sharma captained Chanderbhaga XI. The two teams were mentored by Swami Raj Parihar and Sudershan Sharma, respectively.
Kokila XI, Kesar XI, Trisandhya XI and Blue Sapphire XI were the other teams that competed in the championship. In the opening match of the day, Ajay Thakur-led Trisandhya XI beat Kokila XI led by Anchal Sharma. Chanderbhaga XI got the better of Rajesh Rathore’s Kesar XI in their campaign opener, while Chinar XI started their day with a victory over Trisandhya XI. Chanderbhaga XI then hammered the Arun Sharma-led Blue Sapphire to set up the final with Chinar XI.
Daleep Kumar Shan, Murli Sharma, Hem Raj Thakur and Kuldeep Bhandari mentored Kesar XI, Kokila XI, Trisandhya XI and Blue Sapphire XI, respectively. Taxation advisor Sat Prakash Mehta was the chief guest for the event.
Later, KSJ members presented the winners’ trophy to Chinar XI, while Chandrabhaga XI received the runners-up trophy. Mithun Rathore of Chinar XI was adjudged man of the tournament for scoring maximum runs in the competition.
A K Sen, chairman, Kishtwari Sangathan Jammu and president Rajinder Singh said, “The tournament provides a unique opportunity for the community youth to interact with each other and encourages outdoor sports.”
