Drug peddler held with heroin-like-substance, sharp-edged weapon

JAMMU, Mar 23: Police in Sidhra area here claimed they have arrested a drug peddler and recovered 23 grams of heroin-like-substance and a sharp-edged weapon from his possession.
A police spokesperson said that a party of Police Post Sidhra led by incharge Police Post concerned PSI Arun Sharma under the supervision of SHO Nagrota Inspector Rajeshwar Singh and SP Rural Brijesh Sharma while performing naka duty at Tawi Bridge, Sidhra stopped a person for checking who tried to flee on seeing the police party.
He was overpowered and during search of his belongings, 23 grams of heroin-like- substance and a sharp-edged weapon was recovered from his possession.
He has been accordingly booked in case FIR number 96/2024 under sections 8/21/22 of the NDPS Act and 4/25 Arms Act registered at Police Station Nagrota.
