JAMMU, Feb 23: The 13th International MELOW Conference on “In a Wired World: Literature in the Age of Information Technology” organized by the Department of English, University of Jammu in collaboration with MELUS India (The Society for the Study of the Multi –Ethnic Literatures of the United States- India Chapter) and MELOW (The Society for the Study of the Multi –Ethnic Literatures of the World), concluded here today.
Prof Manoj K Dhar, Registrar JU, who was chief-guest in the valedictory function, congratulated the MELUS-MELOW Association and Prof Satnam Kour, HoD English. He also conferred the Issac Sequira Memorial Award to Dr Meenu Gupta for the best Paper Presentation in the conference with cash prize and a certificate.
Prof Posh Charak presented a welcome address while Prof Manju Jaidka spoke on the topic.
The feedback was also taken from the delegates wherein they appreciated the enriching academic experience and hospitality offered by the Department of English, JU.
Dr Sadaf Shah read the detailed report of the three-day-long conference.
In the end, a formal vote of thanks was presented by Prof Sucheta Pathania. Dr Ravinder Singh carried out the proceedings of the event.
Among others , Prof Sushila Singh, president MELOW, Prof Anil Raina, vice president of MELOW, Prof Manju Jaidka, secretary MELOW, Prof Satnam Kaur, Head and Convener of 13th MELOW Conference, delegates from India and abroad, faculty members, scholars and students were also present on the occasion.
