NHPC inks loan agreement of JPY 20 billion with JBIC Japan

JAMMU, Mar 28: NHPC Limited, India’s premier hydro power utility has secured Foreign Currency Loan of JPY 20 billion from Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC), Japan for implementation of renewable project including 300 mv Solar Power Project, Bikaner being developed under CPSE 1000 mv Scheme.
The loan agreement was signed today by Executive Director (Finance), NHPC and Ryuta Suzuki, Director General, New Energy and Power Finance Department II, JBIC in the presence of RP Goyal, CMD and Director (Finance), Uttam Lal, Director (Personnel) and RK Chaudhary, Director (Technical & Projects) at NHPC Corporate Office.
This is a first kind of loan syndication by NHPC with JBIC for financing of renewable energy project. JBIC’s loan is co-financed with MUFG Bank Limited, Japan and Bank of Yokohama Limited, Japan.
The facility is extended under JBIC’s Green Operations (Global Action for Reconciling Economic Growth and Environment Preservation) which ensures preservation of global environment.
