JAMMU, Feb 24: Police today arrested a narcotic smuggler along with large quantity of charas near Tawi bridge, falling under the jurisdiction of Nowabad police station.
As per police sources, on specific inputs, police team from Nowabad police station headed by SHO Jai Pal Sharma and SI Vikram Manhas intercepted a person, who was moving suspiciously near river Tawi bridge.
During checking, police recovered 4 kilograms of charas and arrested the narcotic smuggler, who has been identified as Jeevan Singh, son of Rubail Singh of Ramban.
A case under FIR number 36/14 under Section 8/20/21 Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act has been registered at Nowabad police station and investigation started.
