SRINAGAR, Feb 25: Scores of workers of Health Department today staged protests here against the Government and Director of Health Services, Kashmir for its failure to release the wages of some 300 daily-wagers from last 21 months.
The protesters said they have been working as class IV and sweepers in different health institutions across the Kashmir from last many years, but their wages were stopped some 21-months back after an enquiry found that some 2400 employees are working “illegally” in Health Department.
“The department has cleared the cases of hundreds of its employees after thorough probe was ordered,” they said, adding only some “poor” class IV and sweepers of the department were dropped in the list.
