3 State skiers leave for Iran

SRINAGAR, Feb 26: The Indian Alpine Ski team has left Delhi today for Iran to participate in the FIS Asian Junior Alpine Ski Championship to be held from February 27 to March 7, 2014.
The Indian contingent consists of Syed Hania, Azlan Abid and Wasiq-ul-Billa, while Hafeeza Hassan is the Team Leader. This is first time that the whole Indian team hails from J&K.
These athletes had performed exceptionally well in the last Junior National Ski Championship held at Gulmarg.
The team will participate in Slalom and Giant Slalom events.
President, Winter Games Association, Farooq Ahmad Shah expressed happiness for the selection of three J&K skiers and their coach by the Winter Games Federation of India and expressed his gratitude to Brig (Rtd) SS Patwal, President WGFI for encouraging the local talent.
Meanwhile, the J&K Junior Ski team has arrived Auli, Uttrakhand to take part in the National Junior Alpine Ski Championship.
