JAMMU, Mar 1: Vaishno Devi College of Education organized two day long badminton tournament in the college campus, today.
Vikresh Kumar, Principal of the college inaugurated the tournament.
The number of singles and doubles badminton matches were played under the look of Mubarak Singh and Madan Shamin Akther. In boys single, Sahil Sharma and Pritam Singh and in girl’s singles, Mehroz Khan and Sweety reached the final where in mix doubles Joginder Kumar, Anju Devi and Amit, Pooja Devi reached the final.
28 players took part in the competition and 19 matches were played.
In singles, Sahil Sharma was defeated by Pritam Singh with 2-1 sets in the final and Mehroz Khan was defeated by Sweety with 2-0 sets in the final. In mix doubles, Joginder and Anju were defeated Amit and Pooja with 2-1sets in the final.
At the close of the tournament, winners were given away the prizes.
