RAJOURI, Apr 15: A chaos was witnessed in Rajouri town on Monday when the lift of Vishal Mega Mart suddenly stopped with some children inside.
The people had gone to Vishal Mega Mart for shopping and suddenly due to power failure, the lift stopped and 5 to 6 children got stuck inside it. The parents of the children expressed their anger and said that the lift suddenly stopped due to power failure and at that time some children were present inside the lift who were coming from the lift to the ground floor. Due to power failure, the lift stopped and the problem was aggravated when there was no fuel to run the generator.
The parents of the children trapped in the lift started raising alarm when they came to know that oil was not available to run the generator in Vishal Mega Mart. The mother of a girl stuck in the lift expressed her anger and said that her daughter has difficulty in breathing, that is why she cannot walk and climb the stairs and is going to the upper floor to do her shopping with the help of the lift. But no alternate arrangement was made even for 20 to 25 minutes after the lift closed.
Another parent expressed strong anger and said that the district administration and police should take cognizance of such negligence in Vishal Mega Mart so that such thing never happen in future.
