JAMMU, Apr 21: ‘Chardikala Diwas’ of Dera Nangali Sahib, Poonch was held at Gurudwara Digiana Ashram, Jammu today.
The Celebration Committee for the religious function at Digiana Ashram, organized this grand event under the supervision of Mahant Manjit Singh, head priest of Dera Nangali Sahib, Poonch. A large number of Sikh community members and various Sikh bodies participated and prayed for the `Chardikala’ of Dera Nangali Sahib.
Several `Ragis’ and religious personalities participated and highlighted the achievements of Dera Nangali Sahib and appreciated the role of Dera Nangali Sahib for the betterment in the religious and educational field and to maintain love and brotherhood among the various sections of the society.
Sudershan Singh Wazir, chairman Sikh United Front said that the Mahant Manjit Singh preached the Sikhism in and outside India and the people of J&K can never forget the achievements of the Dera for giving the selfless service. He appreciated the role of head priest for rendering the selfless service to the society.
Mahant Manjit Singh extended gratitude to the participants who came from various parts of Jammu province to attend the religious programme. He said the Sikh Coordination Committee which was established for the betterment of people and solving the long pending issues of the Sikh community, was involved in serving its narrow interests and personal demands rather than solving the genuine issues of the Sikh community. On this occasion, Mahant Manjit Singh dissolved the Sikh Coordination Committee, J&K with immediate effect.
Dr Jaswant Singh, Lakhbir Singh Baba, Prof. Hardev Singh and Hardit Singh also spoke on the occasion and presented `Saroopa’ to Mahant Manjit Singh.
Prof Narinder Singh, president DGPC Poonch, Prof, Hardayal Singh president DGPC Rajouri, Dr Netar Singh, Rajinder Singh, Karan Singh Bali Member DGPC Jammu, Avtar Singh Member DGPC Jammu. Mohinder Singh, Darbinder Singh, Dr Surjeet Singh, Ravinder Singh, Gajan Singh and others were also present on this occasion.
