UDHAMPUR, Apr 21: Police apprehended four bovine smugglers, rescued 42 cattle and seized the truck, which was being used for bovine smuggling at Tikri, Udhampur.
Reports said that Police team of Police Post Tikri, led by PSI Sahil Chib, apprehended three groups of bovines smugglers at naka point Tikri who were taking bovines towards Kashmir on foot. Police also intercepted one vehicle bearing registration number JK02BK-2563 and rescued a total 42 bovines from the clutches of four bovine smugglers namely Mohd Shabeer (driver), son of Mohd Farooq of Reasi, Sadam Hussain son of Mohd Sadiq of Anantnag, Mohd Akther son of Mohd Sain of Ramban and Zakir Ahmed Khatana, son of Mohd Iqbal of Anantnag.
In this regard, four FIRs under section 188 IPC have been registered in Police Station Rehambal and further investigation of the cases is underway.
