Police arrests mobile phone stealers in SMHS

Srinagar, Mar 7:  Police today arrested two mobile phone stealers in SMHS Hospital here following complaints by patients and attendants about the thefts.
A police spokesman said they received numerous complaints regarding theft of mobile phones of many patients and their attendants in the premises of SMHS Hospital.
“We registered FIRs 7/2014 and 8/2014 under Section 379/RPC and started investigation. A police team led by SHO Karan Nagar, Mohammad Issaq arrested two suspects Showkat Ahmad Jogi son of Majid Jogi of Bemina and Saaqib Rafiq Bhat son of Mohammad Rafiq of Pampore,” the spokesman said.
“Both the accused are in police custody,” they said.
During their questioning, the duo confessed their involvement in stealing of many mobile phones in the hospital, the spokesman said, adding, they also recovered many stolen phones from them.
He also said that police penalized about 100 offenders smoking in the hospital premises and recovered fine of Rs. 4, 630 from the offenders.
