CHENNAI, Mar 8: Prices of gram dal, sugar and wheat increased in this week at the wholesale market here.
However, moong dal, maida and sooji declined during the period. All other commodities ruled steady.
Gram dal opened the week at Rs 3,900,an increase of Rs 100 per quintal from its closing rates of Rs 3,800 and remained steady at Rs 3,900 till its closing date today.
Wheat rose by Rs 100 per quintal to Rs 2,500 from last week’s closing rate of Rs 2,400.
In addition, opening the week at Rs 2,900,sugar price edged up by Rs 20 per quintal from Rs 2,880 to close the week at the same rate of Rs 2,900.
Moong dal decreased by Rs 100 per quintal to Rs 9,500 from its previous closing rates of Rs 9,600 and traded at the same rate till today.
Prices of Maida (90 kg) and Sooji (90 kg) moved down to Rs 2,450 and Rs 2,550 from last week’s closing rate of Rs 2,500 and Rs 2,600 a loss of Rs 50 each.
Tur dal (Rs 7,000),urad dal (Rs 7,400) ruled steady throughout the week. (AGENCIES)
