JAMMU, May 9: The Sports Committee of Dogra College of Education under the guidance of Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of the College organized the 25th Sports Meet in the college premises here today. The welcome address was given by Priya Sharma, student of 2nd Semester.
The oath ceremony was also done by the participants to emphasize the spirit of sportsmanship and fair play. The sports meet was graced by Dr Vikesh Kumar Sharma, Principal, Dogra College of Education. He stressed that apart from imparting academic knowledge to the students, various physical activities must also be encouraged for their overall development.
He also emphasized that such types of sports events will go a long way in developing the overall personality of the students. During the inaugural ceremony, an array of fun-filled athletic events were organized including Tug Of War, Lemon Race, Three Leg Race, 50 Meter Race, Kho- Kho, Badminton and Chess. All the matches were held under the guidance and supervision of Dimple Singh, Physical Instructor, Dogra College of Education and Priyanka Bendral, Convener, Sports Committee, Dogra College of Education. Around 50 students from both the semesters showcased their instinct talents.
Prominent among others present at the event were Indu Puri, Senior Lecturer, Dogra College of Education, Vintee Kumari, Senior Lecturer, Dogra College of Education, all staff members and students of B.Ed. The event was anchored by Arushi Sharma, President, Student Council, DCE.
