JAMMU, Mar 13: Legislative Assembly Secretariat has sought facts and comments from the General Administration Department on breach of privilege notice given by MLA Kathua, Charanjit Singh against District Development Commissioner, Kathua, Jitender Kumar Singh.
In a communiqué addressed to Commissioner/Secretary, General Administration Department, the Assembly Secretariat said, “Speaker has desired to seek facts from you vis-à-vis privilege notice given by MLA Kathua, Charanjit Singh”, adding “the reply should be furnished within a period of three days positively so that further steps could be taken”.
In the privilege notice, the MLA has mentioned that NFB sector is one of the components of the District Plan under which the ceiling of Rs 45 lakh was communicated to the Deputy Commissioner’s office before the formulation of the plan. However, DDC reflected the proposed allocation as zero in the plan.
In reply to cut motions regarding the ceiling of the said sector, the Minister for Planning, however, has shown the ceiling to the tune of Rs 45 lakh, he said, adding the Minister has even given the details of the works which have been executed under the head that too with the approval of the DDC Kathua.
According to the MLA, most of the funds have been utilized by the officer either in his office or residence and the quarters of his departmental officers. However, not even a single penny has been released for repair of those works for which request was made by MLA for release of funds.
