JAMMU, Mar 13: Intensifying his poll campaign in Rajouri district on Thursday, BJP candidate for Jammu-Poonch Parliamentary constituency and BJP State President Jugal Kishore Sharma addressed a number of corner meetings at Narian, Chingus, Kallar, Dungi, Dhangri, Muradpur, Phalyana, Pathanmoda, Rajouri City and Dhanidhar.
Sharma expressed disgust over the present state of affairs in Rajouri district and said bulk of the area continues to suffer due to official apathy. “The Congress and its coalition partner NC and the main opposition PDP have only treated the majority community comprising Gujjars, other Backward Classes and Pathowari speaking community as a vote bank, but have not done anything to regenerate their socio-economic and political life,” he said.
He accused the Congress and the NC of dividing Jammu province on religious lines and in support of his charge that ruling coalition is trying to disintegrate Jammu province, he said only a few days ago the Congress claimed that it is the only party which can ensure development of Pir Panjal region and Jammu. The BJP rejects this divisive suggestion outright and makes a solemn commitment that the BJP will maintain the unity and integrity of Jammu province at whatever cast, he added.
“It is not only the majority community which has suffered owing to the anti-Jammu policies being evolved and implemented by the Congress and the NC, the plight of the minority community is equally pathetic. Like Sunderbani, Kalakot and Nowshera, other parts of Rajouri district have been neglected by the ruling coalition despite the fact that Rajouri district is represented in the Assembly by five law makers belonging to the NC and the Congress party.
Jugal was accompanied by Vibodh Gupta, Kuldeep Raj Gupta, Bharat Bhushan Vaid, Rajinder Gupta, Dinesh Sharma, Ravinder Raina, Ranjeet Tara, Sarpanch Babu Ram, Subash Chander, Deeraj Sharma, Rakesh Raina, Yogesh Sharma, Ashish Sareen, Sanjay Sharma, Sarfaraz, Retd SHO Mela Ram Sharma, Balbir Sharma Sarpanch and others.
