JAMMU, May 24: In view of scorching heat in entire Jammu province, Department of Youth Services and Sports (YSS) today directed all the district officers to either conduct sports activities before 9:30 AM or postpone the same.
“In view of the advisory issued by the Indian Meteorological Department regarding isolated heat wave conditions in plains of Jammu province for next 5 days, coupling with change in school timings, the ongoing sports activities and competitions in such areas of Jammu province shall either be conducted before 9:30 AM or postponed for time being,” said an order issued by the Department of YSS.
Meanwhile, District Sports Officer Samba Dharamveer Singh also issued an order to stop all inter zone district level competitions for boys and girls of 14 and 17 years of age group across Samba district, including cricket, football, chess, carrom and yoga. The next date of all the competitions will be informed soon, read the order.
