Notification for Jammu issued

JAMMU, Mar 15: Deputy Commissioner, Jammu, Ajit Kumar Sahu, the Returning Officer for Jammu-Poonch Lok Sabha, today issued notification inviting nominations from the candidates. The seat would go to polls in first phase of Jammu and Kashmir on April 10.
Official sources said soon after Mr Sahu issued the election notification this morning inviting the candidates desirous of entering into election fray from Jammu-Poonch Lok Sabha seat to file their nomination papers.
However, no nomination was filed on first day of the notification.
The candidates can file nomination papers till March 22. Scrutiny of nominations will be conducted on March 24 while the candidates can withdraw their nomination papers till March 26. Voting is scheduled to be held on April 10.
Meanwhie, as many as seven candidates today received nomination forms on the first day of the notification.
Sources said the candidates who received nominations included Balwan Singh, Sardar Kalu Khan (All J&K Kissan Mazdoor Party), Girdhari Lal Bhagat (BBP), Bahadur Singh (SP) Vijay Kumar (Aam Mazdoor Kissan Vikas Party), Mohammad Sharief and Nirmal Singh (both Independents).
