REASI, May 30: Reasi police foiled an attempt of bovine smuggling at Tahral area and rescued 31 bovines besides arresting two smugglers.
Acting on reliable information that some smugglers were carrying bovine animals by foot from Tahral towards Kashmir, a police party from Police Station Pouni reached the spot and rescued the animals.
Police also arrested the alleged smugglers, identified as Mohd Sharief, son of Mohd Ismail and Shabir Ahmed, son of Noor Mohd, both residents of Chana Baghie in Tehsil Chassana , District Reasi. They were carrying the bovine animals without any valid permission of the concerned authority.
In this connection, a case FIR under section 188 IPC 11(1)( a) PCA Act has been registered at P/S Pouni.
